Indian Boy Commit Suicide On Facebook Live on Webcam

Facebook means friends, love and fun for school kids, but for a 16-year-old girl, the website has become a horror she would not want to revisit all her life.

On Saturday night, the teenager watched in shock as an alleged video chat on the site triggered her 22-year-old boyfriend to tie a rope to the ceiling of his room and hang himself.

The youth, Ankit Srivastava, decided to take the extreme step in front of his webcam and made the girl watch it live on her computer. Ankit's father Abhay Srivastava has lodged a complaint against the girl, accusing her of forcing his son to commit suicide. Ankit's body was found hanging in his house in Vinayaka area of Bhelupur, Varanasi, on Saturday midnight.

An event executive in a private company, he was living there with his mother Indu Srivastava, a schoolteacher. His parents had separated 10 years ago. On Monday night, Abhay lodged an FIR at Bhelupur police station against the girl who lives with her parents in Kabirnagar locality in the city.

"The girl was known to my son for the last one year. They had met online through a social networking site and then become friends. He used to chat online with her for many hours. However, recently, the girl started pressurising him to marry her. She also used to force him to give her money. It appears that my son committed suicide under her pressure," Ankit's father, a retired bank employee, told the police.
