The Lava E-Tab Z7H runs on a 1.2GHz single core cortex A-8 processor, Mali 400 GPU and 512MB of RAM. The device will run on Android 4.0.3 ICS and there is no news on whether the device will be upgradable to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. In terms of storage, the device has 4GB internal expandable to 32GB via a microSD card.
Lava’s E-Tab Z7H tablet will sport a 7-inch display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, and the device also has a 0.3 front facing camera. It features a 2,800 mAh battery and supports Wi-Fi but 3G-connectivity is supported via a USB dongle only. The tablet doesn't have HDMI-out, and weighs 350 grams.
The device comes with a bunch of preloaded apps such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, TOI, Nimbuzz, a few preloaded movie and 10HD videos, Fusion App, 14 Preloaded Books, Flyte Flipkart Music App.
Currently, the device is available for preorder on Flipkart and the estimated release date mentioned is second week of August.
At a price point of Rs. 5,500, the device is aggressively priced in competition with other budget tablets such as the iberry Auxus AX02, Micromax Funbook and the Zync Z990.
Recently, we have seen Karbonn launch a budget tablet called the Karbonn Smart Tab 1. The device is priced at Rs. 6,990 and runs on Google’s latest Android OS, 4.1 Jelly Bean. The device is one of the first budget tablets to run Jelly Bean out of the box.
